Bathroom Design
Done Right

Full-service bathroom design for primary suites, guest baths, and powder rooms — where craft is most exposed.

There is nowhere to hide in 70 square feet.

The bathroom is the most honest room in a house. A beautiful sofa can compensate for mediocre floors elsewhere. In a bathroom, there is nowhere for a weak decision to hide — the grout line, the vanity proportion, the way the mirror meets the tile: all of it is present at once.

Harmony House designs bathrooms at every scale — from single-room commissions to wet rooms as part of a whole-home project. We bring the same material intelligence, technical precision, and design conviction to a guest bath as to a primary suite.

Six Considerations for Every Bathroom Project

01
Scale and the Spatial Brief
The discipline of the bathroom is subtraction. Knowing what the room genuinely needs — rather than everything it could contain — is the first design decision and often the most important.
02
Material Selection and the Touch Test
Tile, stone, and surface materials define a bathroom's character more than any other element. We specify materials that carry warmth and reveal craft up close — not just in the rendering.
03
The Vanity: Furniture Logic
A vanity designed with furniture logic — considered proportions, warm materiality, integrated storage — transforms the entire room's register. Stock vanities signal cost-cutting immediately.
04
Lighting: The Most Underestimated Decision
Overhead lighting is the default and the wrong answer. Sconces at eye height, layered circuits, and warm colour temperatures are the decisions that make a bathroom feel genuinely good every morning.
05
The Shower: A Room Within a Room
A shower that is generous enough to be a destination — bench, niche, considered tile work — reads as a luxury amenity. A shower that merely meets code reads as a requirement met.
06
Budget Allocation
Spend on tile and stone first, plumbing fixtures second, vanity third. These are the surfaces encountered every day. Their quality is felt even when it is not consciously registered.
Without limits, rooms can wander. The bathroom focuses you. Constraint is not the obstacle — it is the frame that makes the design possible.

Beans Bight and Beck Road taught us that bathrooms are the rooms where craft is most exposed — and where constraint, accepted honestly, becomes the creative brief.
